Daedalus Workshop, an Architecture and Interior Design firm, in collaboration with Siam Woodland of Bangkok, one of Southeast Asia’s premier manufacturers of Decorative Surfacing products, proudly announce the launch of their NoMad collection of home furnishings.
Inspired by Danish and mid-century Modern classics, the NoMad Collection combines the rough, semi-processed and highly finished textures of unused remnants normally discarded during the fabrication process of veneer, laminate and solid surfacing products. Conceived and designed to utilize the abandoned material that would otherwise be burned or shipped to landfill, each piece acquires its unique, signature quality and handmade character depending on the materials available in the factory at any given time.
The Flatiron Series, the first line in the NoMad Collection, features re-composed veneer tops and surrounds with inner storage components clad in re-composed veneer block remnants and a variety of supports made from discarded solid surface panels or leftover, rough-cut tree trunks originally used to make veneer products. The Series currently consists of three (3) different items available in a variety of finishes
Flatiron I, a double sided credenza and space-divider, is available in a variety of veneer surrounds (Red Oak, Maple or Ebony). The inner cabinet, finished on four sides in the various re-composed veneer block remnants, has three storage compartments with adjustable shelves in each while the open ends have adjustable, laminated glass shelves. In lieu of the re-composed veneer block remnants, the inner cabinet is also available in Glacier White Solid Surface (Flatiron Ia) or in re-composed Walnut veneer slats with a medium gray finish (Flatiron Ib).
